Article VI: Elections
Section 1: To hold the position of President, one must have one term's experience as one of the Vice Presidents (Executive, Finance, or Publicity). If no qualified individual wishes to run, the position is opened to any Executive Board member, then to Committee Members, and finally to Active Members.
Section 2: To hold a Vice President position (Executive, Finance, or Publicity), one must have one term's experience as a Chair. If no qualified individual wishes to run, the position is opened up first to Committee Members, then to Active Members.
Section 3: To hold a Chair position (Publicity, Queer Awareness Month, Community Advocacy, Campus Advocacy, Membership Relations, or Social Media), one must be an active Committee Member. If no qualified individual wishes to run, the position is opened up to Active Members.
Section 4: In order to be listed on the voting ballot, all individuals wishing to run for the Executive Board must be nominated by a PRISM member with Active Membership status or higher. All nominations must be seconded by a PRISM member with Active Membership status or higher, and nominees must submit a letter of intent for the position(s) they wish to run for.
Section 4.1: A letter of intent includes, but is not limited to, the position being applied for, leadership abilities and experience, qualifications, why the person is applying, which other positions the person is applying for, and which positions take priority.

Section 5: It is recommended that elections be held sometime in November. All PRISM members with Active Membership status or higher are eligible to vote in general elections.
Section 6: Nominees are expected to prepare a short speech for elections.
Section 7: The two highest Executive Board members not running for another term are responsible for counting the ballots. The nominee who receives the most votes is elected to the position. Each nominee can only be elected to one position.
Section 8: If an Executive Board member leaves their position before the term ends, Sections 1-4 and Section 7 of Article V still hold. The Executive Board will vote internally to elect the new Executive Board member.
